As someone who has gone to Tokyo over the course of my life for family visits, here are some tips.

If you don't impede on anyone else life, they won't to you. It's more or less a mutual respect. Keep to yourself unless you NEED to bother others. People are willing to help. Japanese people are not as xenophobic as the internet says. Just don't be fucking obnoxious.

If you go to Akihabara, go to the backstreets, that is where you will find various doujin shops. Tora and Melon Books are on the main street. White canvas, Mandarake, and a lot of the ones which i don't know the names of are in the back streets.

Enjoy the arcades, it's a rare chance that you get to play someone you don't know then peer around the corner to see the guy who beat you. (Or vice versa)

In Tokyo, expect packed streets, use trains as your primary source of transportation, you will be getting a lot of looks, but that's because you look different, not because people have an underlying hate for you.

OP, more specific information would be nice. Where exactly are you going/ how many people are you going with? I might be able to suggest a few things which might be of itnerest
