If killing someone with the sword could prevent their memories from continuing to the following loop. Then killing people in different patterns would be like randomly pressing keys on a typewriter until you reached a certain outcome.

If Satoko is looping back before Rika, then that means she gets to live with original Rika and looper Rika.
Could that be why she keeps resetting the loops? She wants to recreate the old Hinamizawa with the original Rika and sees looper Rika as an entirely different person.
