There's a button at the top of the page you can click at the start. I think that was your red button since I only have blue and purple now. Every day you log in to a DMM game and then refresh the event page, which should show you a progress update like this. The 30 prize boxes give you DMM points or whatever else they say. You also get roulette medals, so they're basically a bonus. You probably have 6 medals, and there's buttons at the top to spend them.

You can use other DMM games so relogging doesn't interrupt your KanColle. I use Mist Train Girls on my phone while sortieing on PC. Several weeks after the event ends they'll give you the DMM points and you can use them to buy slots.
