Also when I was reading up on medieval lore I was surprised how much lords hated crossbows. You'd think that a weapon that would make your army that much stronger than your enemy would be welcome but nope, "it destroys our way of life, allowing a peasant to be able to slay a knight with only a pull of his finger."
