Battler suggests Kinzo is involved with the murders, which Eva confirms can't have happened, because she placed a receipt in his door which hasn't moved. Riyu asks why she would do something like this, to which Natsuhi tries to make him butt out of the conversation, but Eva encourages him, noting that because he's studying law, he might have some unique insight. He explains that he got into law because there are criminals that manage to escape punishment and have their crimes forgotten, and he wants to be there to stop them from escaping it. If even one person who deserves to be punished and judged will be brought to judgement by his hands, he'll be satisfied. Natsuhi shivers, and he continues to stay rational and objective.
