The problem is that people like you go there with unrealistic expectations. It isn't some anime heaven where you'll finally be accepted. Otaku culture may be a lot more prevalent, but having a deep interest in otaku culture isn't going to make it any easier to get by than it is in whatever country your from. You're going to face the same kind of nasty looks and treatment you get in your home country, with the only benefit being that there will be a lot more of your kind, and a lot more stores and events catering to you. Not to mention the language barrier, having to relearn all of the laws and social norms, how long it will take you to find a decent job, and the discrimination you'll be facing just for being a foreigner. Japan isn't a fairytale golden land, get real. Go back to /a/.
