Compliments always work.

Striking up conversation is incredibly easy. "Hey, you look pretty tired." Something neutral. Grasp at anything, and let her talk about herself. It's easy to do. Then, after that initial bit, you can greet her without awkwardness. Just keep her talking.

But if she's resistant to conversation, she's not interested, and she's missing out so fuck it.
