Protesting isn't just doing something peculiar to draw attention, as it does just that - drawing attention. It does not resolve the issue at hand. No, real protesting means doing things that people want to stop happening. It's a form of coercion, 'listen to us or we will continue to screw you over'. Block roads, cause excessive noise, and if you're really serious, destroy stuff and hurt people.

Protesting is doing terrible stuff to coerce change, not making angry tumblr posts and organizing a fun day out.
