It's been a year since Subaru went to play Minecraft instead of ARK like she initially planned. Visiting the memory lane on Bilibili server and crying because of all the sentimental milestones depicted there by her fans made her really nostalgic and she decided to visit the at the time depopulated Minecraft server for old times sake. She was always into that kind of thing, just like in late 2019-early 2020. She was joined by Ayame, also completely on a whim as far as I know. They went to build their burning poop just like in 2019 because what the hell else would they do.

Mere days after that Pekora also visited the Minecraft server deciding to build something that would manage to change Hololive's direction and bring literally everyone back to play Minecraft. It was those two streams that made history as Summer 2020 was ending. For better or for worse that little chain of events shaped modern Hololive. Ripples from Mio's ban have led us to complete Minecraft domination for an entire year.

Hololive really is a place driven by these lightnings in a bottle. It's what "soul" is.
