desu a body needs to be done only once or twice, the rest (expressions etc.) can be done by layers

I always like how Ran's hat shapes her ears, she could've just put holes in it but NOPE she lets it ride

It also looks like she took a pair of her bloomers tied the ends together and stuck it on her head, never ceases to amaze
