I taped 3 pointless arrow shafts together. use one corner of said cloth, then another, then a small alcohol rinse (maybe a tablespoons worth) and use the two remaining corners

Buy a pack of microfiber cloths designed for cars, able to find in most automotive sections
find a sturdy enough stick or rod, wrap rod with stick.
get some rubbing alcohol, 70%ish. kinda doesnt matter
pour it in and wipe it out

For my dolls, nothing bad is happening so far and a few of them are in the 5 year old range. They also gravity dry.
