When cartoons and visual novels are translated into non-English languages (I notice there are a lot of Russian translations), are they translated from the English or from the original Japanese?

Fair enough. It's been a while since I played it, so I don't remember.

That cover art is from the French translation though. If you can't find that logo elsewhere, here it is in slightly higher resolution.

Also I just learned that some Russians translated it a few months ago:

The same group also translated Clannad and Kanon into Russian. It's strange that we have an international presence like this.
