What you don't seem to understand here is that at least back in the heydays the girls had some grasp of harmonization to go with their pretty appearance.
Now, what's the strong points of members like Jun Jun? Her singing skills are average to awful, which Tsunku just keeps turning a blind eye on since the alleged flagship members aren't much better, and the whole gimmick boils down to "Oh, this is a Chinese member, this means she might have not a full grasp of Japanese yet so odds are she'll say the darnest things. Also, we can snug her in a panda suit for added comedy value". How long do you think novelties such as this will last?
