I think the biggest thing is people need to understand it takes a lot to build up to the real thing, EVEN in fantasy, because the point is you're developing not just what the limits are with your partner, but what their ability to move past your/their limits are. And that goes both ways. If the sub is really taking to it and can push pretty far past what they normally can take each time but the Dom balks and gets too afraid of pushing further, that can be just as night-ending as the reverse where the sub has to safe out. It's an art.

I suppose, as mundane or non romantic as it sounds, I'd want her to 'show her work' on the whole summoning thing. Check for consistencies in magic and how it works in other scenarios in universe.
