I like to imagine she's old, likely the oldest of all the tsuchigumo currently living in Former Hell. She can kick back and have fun without making a fuss, which is something only older, more established youkai are seen doing in Gensokyo. Moreover, Akyuu writes that she's amiable and can be reasoned with, which isn't something I'd expect from a younger, more callow youkai spider.
