When you open a unityproject file in Unity, it unpacks all of the files into textures, .fbx (a 3D model format), (normally) set-up material files for shader of choice (lilToon in this case, but we don't care about that), and (normally) prefabricated setups that are good for drag and drop (there's more for avatar files but we don't care about that in this case, you're just after the .fbx and the textures)
You can import the .fbx file right into Blender from where Unity unpacks it in the project, map the textures from there.
