The last anime he watched/liked was Vampire Hunter D (85) and some other fairly popular 80s anime film that I can't remember.

I'm looking to get him in with movies to start with, then short series, then longer series.

He's in his 30s and seems to like things with a lot of action and comedy.

I don't think he's terribly into cerebral stuff like Ghost in the Shell or Paranoia Agent. So emphasis on accessable/simple, I guess. I'm at a loss here because weird shit like Satoshi Kon films are everything I love and then some, so I need help from people who are into a few more niches then that.
