Like, perhaps people should get together, and rethink how to approach the learning guide for beginners int he sticky, as it STILL recommends people do 2K first, AND there's not time frames for when people should finish, at least Matt's guide is giving people a time frame for when they should get stuff done so they can pace themselves accordingly.

I get it, but making beginners who come in here feel like they're wasting their time with the way they're learning and killing their motivation as a result is a fucking dick move.

It's the same shit as /ic/ and /fit/ people are just total cunts who get in the way of anything actually being proactive. You end up spending more time questioning yourself and rethinking your methods, than actually doing any proper learning desu. It's irritating as fuck.

Ranting aside, the sticky should be reconsidered, because at least from personal exp, 2K is pretty shit overall. It shouldn't be done before at least SOME isolated Kanji study. I haven't done RTK yet, but I think I will, that Matt guy seems to have a pretty good perspective on things, and I'd rather take advice from someone who's already fluent, than random anons ITTs.

Yeah, this is fucking retarded. It give you NO listening practice at all, no writing practice either, and if you lack the vocab and kanji, it's gonna be fucking grueling. There's more to languages than just reading.

Will Matt update this considering his last video?

Here's the actual guide people should follow but with a few changes. Immediately skim Tae Kim and start reading while using DoJG as a reference, and only do 10 kanji per day from RTK. However listening should still make up the bulk of your learning, a minimum of 2 hours a day.

Even if your argument is they even out, that still tips in favor of not frontloading RTK in my opinion.

>>19448290
I'm responding to a conclusion that Matt makes, and Matt himself suggests a 4 month time-frame for RTK. Even 2 months is a long time and you can get a lot done reading-wise in that amount of time.
