EMS Express mail usually takes four days to get to me.
Economy SAL is random, five days, two weeks, it varies.

That's not true.
People complain about anime prices constantly in Japan. Amazon.co.jp itself is full of people pointing out how high Japanese cartoon prices are. And any thread on 2ch which has a bunch of people talking about what they're buying also gets comments like "bunch of rich folks in here" and "you otaku realize your sense of money is completely different from normal people, right?"

The thing is, the video market itself in Japan is 10% the size of the U.S. Most people just rent, not buy. And most adults don't watch cartoons. So it's a niche market inside a niche market.

So where do you guys buy all your stuff?

Yeah, the only things Amazon Japan will ship overseas are books/magazines, music CDs, and BD/DVDs, and only things not categorized as adult.

(The actual content is irrelevant. They won't ship PC software but they'll ship a book with software attached if it's distributed through book publishers. They'll ship music CDs but they won't ship a PC game soundtrack if it's distributed by a PC software publisher because it winds up categorized as "software." The won't ship anything categorized as "adult" but as long as it's not actually labeled that way, they don't care (e.g. Champion Red Ichigo, Akisora type stuff).)
