I feel like the only real primary on /jp/. I got into Touhou by playing EoSD for like 2 years before even realising the fan culture existed and only barely knowing the characters had names

Most of /jp/ were born secondaries, they got into 2hu from IOSYS or something. Some will admit this, like in the "how did you get into Touhou" threads with the alarmingly high number of serious Bad Apple replies, and others will keep quiet.

They will never ascend to primary heaven. It's not a matter of whether they play the games afterwards to atone for their original sin. It's just how they were born.

On the other hand, I as a natural primary could spend all my time posting "epic" Chen and Cirno threads full of secondary memes and it wouldn't change my status. Understand?

Face it, as part of the Western fandom you're a pleb by default. Did you play EoSD in Japanese when it came out? Did you have in-depth knowledge of many Touhou characters before any English-language Touhou wiki was created? Do you know Japanese near fluently and hence have access to the exact nuances of everything said by every Touhou in-game and in canon print works? Do you remember when China was established as sleepy, do you remember when Yuyuko's character "changed" from "elegant ojousama XDD" to "gluttonous ghost"? OR did you just turn up after the fact and decide you're suddenly the encyclopedic master of Touhou because you've read some dialogue? Seriously, who the fuck are YOU to think your opinion dictates a fandom you've never had any hand in?
