Anime girls provide supernormal stimulus. Their eyes are larger, their heads are more infantile, their legs are longer. These things simply don't exist in real people, and if they did then we would produce pictures of women with even more exaggerated features.

The thing is though is that since these features are so exaggerated, if they were presented in reality you would find them repulsive because they were out of place with the rest of the population.

2d doesn't represent perfection, it's simply an extreme version of life and thus more exciting.
