You normally can't "pop" from overeating/drinking, as you'll automatically have a gag reflex and vomit everything out if you get dangerously full. If you lack this reflex from, say, binge eating, then there's a possibility of creating a hole in the stomach lining and getting acids/consumables where they shouldn't be. Fatal overeating doesn't result in a cartoony explosion that splatters food everywhere like one may think, though.
