TWICE is a girl group from Asia with nine members. The group is formed from the nine contestants who passed the strict judging and remained to the end on the survival-style audition show “Sixteen”. They debuted in October of 2015. When the time was finally right, they came out in June 2017 in Japan with their debut album “#TWICE” and reached the number one spot on the Oricon Chart. The album reached platinum status. Their first single, an original song titled “One More Time,” went on sale in October of that same year and took the number one spot on the Oricon Weekly Chart. Their first single had the highest first week sales of any other single from 2017, and the highest first week sales for a debut single of any international artist ever. Their second single “Candy Pop” also reached first place on the Oricon Weekly Chart. This is the first time that an international artist has ever sold more than 200,000 copies in the first week for their first two singles in a row. Their Japanese album "BDZ" (bee-dee-zed) is set to be released on Wednesday, September 12.
