The whole business of a comedians job is to make people laugh(for views). They set up the jokes and situations for that to happen. Sometimes they use guests and depending the guest that job is easier to do then others. That's why Gackt was always popular because how he reacted was always funny. It made the comedians job easier and thus made more money.

When you have boring guest cmthst can't even react funny to insults or weird situations or jokes then it's makes their job harder. It's bad for business.

That's why Mini Moni was always always reinvited. They weren't really witty or good conversationalist, but they reacted funny and were unpredictable. It made for some "classic moments".

That being said your right, some were better than others. That was Kago's big problem post MM. Even when she had opportunities to come on shows she could never keep the mood smooth or understand the set up. She always made things akward with hosts because she just wasn't that skilled in talking and being interesting. She told some new stories but she was always so serious and she kills the mood. People watching at home don't want to feel so negative in those sorts of japanese shows. The hosts want to keep the vibe a certain way but that also requires work on part of the guest to "play along". I would say out of the older members off the top of my head Kei was real good at playing along. As well as Mari, which is the skill she used to become a talento and stay in showbiz. Tsuji also got good at talk shows and now she's invited as a guest pretty often. Goto Maki is captivating because of how dark she really is and doesn't really hide it. She will tell you what she really thinks or feels directly. In my opinion Maki is the most "real" member in terms of personality. She doesn't give a fuck. She has been through a lot in her life and she's at a point where she just doesn't care about what other people think about her. She knows she is what she is.
