I think I would tolerate it if they were faithful adaptations of the games. Stage for stage, line for line, spell-card for spell-card, with the same basic musical score enhanced by a full-blown real orchestra.

One of my favorites was an early-suggested pairing between the black-clothed prismriver sister and Yomou.

Then there was a full color Remiu doujin, but it didn't seem to have as much plot.

Now that UFO's been out for a fairly long time let's discuss how it stacks up against the rest of the series.

The music is lively and inspired. It's a worthy continuation of Zun's musical prowess, with the exception of the Extra stage and Nue's theme. Those songs felt tacked on in comparison to the likes of...nearly every fucking song in UFO.

The characters are probably the weakest and least creative I've seen in any Touhou game (with the exception of Kogasa, stage 2 characters all seem to kick the most ass).

The difficulty is also substantually easier than SA, perhaps he's trying to stabalize the equilibrium that SA went and destroyed by being ridiculous. UFO is one of the easiest in the series, factoring in the bomb and life grinding UFO mechanic makes it by far the easiest (especially using Sanae B). Even Hijiri is simple, sans Flying Fantastica.

The bullets and patterns are the damn most beautiful I've ever seen in any of his games.

Maybe I just need more time to better appreciate UFO's cast.
