My interpretation is that Yasu and Ange are meant to be complete parallels. Both of them also have a lot of similarities to Shion in Higu (Shion is kind of an anti-Yasu, like Ange, it's not just a coincidence that Ange enrolls in St. Lucia). Basically, Ange is the cat that lived while Yasu is the cat that died. Obviously they both had their own personal trauma's and experiences which you can't really compare but despite that, they're still really similair. The scene where Ange gets bullied by her classmates for hours on end and completely breaks down is really heartbreaking in more ways than just one considering the only difference between Ange and Yasu there is that Ange didn't have an easy way to blow up the school she was in.

At first, Ange has a cynical and hateful mindset but it's through her in EP4 that a lot of the ideas about love and the cycle of abuse are expanded. It's bern that causes her to regress back to being more cynical, and Erika appearing is the start of her downfall into becoming just like Erika, with a similair mindset of ignoring the meaning behind what Battler is trying to show her. A lot of her conversations with Featherine in EP5 and EP6 is them discussing how to engage with the themes of Battler's game as a story and discussing how to engage with stories in general, including Umineko itself. Search for the human heart in characters, the meaning behind what is being shown etc. Then again in EP8, it's put to the test as to what kind of reader she and you will be. Soz for the tangent
