For awhile I was blogposting as I finished Higurashi arcs so I figured I'll do that again for no particular reason. I've just finished Yoigoshi-hen. It was good, not great, but there were several things I liked about it. I enjoyed the copious bad ends and choices even if some of them resulted in repeated scenes. In the 12 arcs I've read so far that hasn't really been a thing, so I appreciated it as a change of pace. Story wasn't much to write home about, built tension well in places, but none of the new characters were particularly interesting. I obviously had an interest in adult "Mion" (Shion) (Mion) and wasn't expecting that dead Mion was actually possessing Shion's body that was pretty out there in terms of the supernatural elements, plus all of the dead people talking to the living to resolve the living people's sins it was goofy, but wholesome. Overall it was signifcantly weaker then the main arcs, but thats to be expected. None of the console arcs have the same quality (or near the same quality really) as the main Ryukishi arcs, but I've found them to be enjoyable nonetheless (with the exception of Taraimawashi-hen, which I consider to be the worst of the Higurashi arcs I have read thus far) I am looking forward to Miotsukushi as a complete alternate ending, it seems like it would be quite the undertaking and most have some value to it. I will return with another rambling paragraph on Tokihogushi-hen. Please look forward to it. Blogpost owari.
