As Fuuka exits the prison and meets Nana, the two hug for the first time in a year and tears flow. For this year, Nana has set up a new life for them together in Hawaii where Fuuka even could become a teacher again. Cut to a steamy lesbian sex scene on a beach in Hawaii, followed by Fuuka narrating that she did become a teacher again and eventually Nana also did the same and they teach exclusively sex education for the Hawaiian high school students. End credits roll with stereotypical Hawaiian music playing as Fuuka and Nana demonstrate to their students the true power of lesbianism. All of them are excited and allowed to masturbate, and slowly pan and zoom out of the classroom to a sign "phones forbidden" on the door. It's interesting to think about. If the amnesia erased my personality as shaped by social norms and a lifetime of experiences, then in this case my true self would be unhinged. However, in this case the blind process of exploring my JAV collection would have to be completely based on filenames, and this would become a complicated issue because JAV titles as we all know, can be rather strange and in some cases my files are named with only the code or include something else because I downloaded them that way and procrastinate renaming. Beginning with the most obvious thing: their names. Could it really be a coincidence that Nana Maeno is called Nana Maeno? Let's look at their names as they're written in Japanese to make sense of the indisputable connection:

Ignoring Fuuka's name for now as she predated Nana, consider the implications of a name like まえのなな when spoken. What does a person think of when they hear these words? We think "Nana of the past", right? Many JAV actresses with the name Nana have existed, so why should we assume that this is a reference to Fuuka Nanasaki when she even had Nana only as part of her family name? Why consider it a reference at all? Maybe Nana is her real name. Well, it's possible that I'm drawing too many lines between unconnected dots but now let's look at Fuuka's name for why this is more likely than you think. ななさきふうか simply sounds like a cute name and that's all, right? Wrong! Think about how you might extend her name if you were announcing her presence to an audience, yelling into a microphone... "なあなあさっきふううかあああ！！！！" is one possibility. Did you miss it? This sequence contains "さっき", in other words "a little bit ago". This means that under the right circumstances Fuuka Nanasaki's name also contains a temporal reference, just like Nana Maeno's!! Could this really be a coincidence? Then remember that 花 is "flower" and 菜 is "vegetable". So, both names contain a temporal reference and a plant reference. Besides, look at the shape of their names:

>菜 has feminine bends like 咲 and top like 花
>both 乃 and 々 are angular like 七
>乃 also has a bulging shape like part of 楓
>菜 also has angled curved strokes like 花
This means Nana Maeno chose her name as an homage to Fuuka Nanasaki. Of course I don't really believe that, but it could be within the realm of possibility, couldn't it?

Now let's look at why Nana Maeno even would want to pay homage to Fuuka Nanasaki. Isn't it obvious? Fuuka was one of the fetish goddesses of the previous generation. Nana is doing her best to become one of the fetish goddesses of the current generation. She already is one of them, isn't she? By which criteria could you say, "Nana Maeno isn't a fetish goddess" and not be dismissed as setting the bar too high when JAV inflation is accounted for? Besides, Nana has a "derpy" face just like Fuuka. Maybe if we look at their faces in isolation this means nothing, but let's not do that and instead compare the higher essence of their facial features. Yes, their faces look very different but their "facial character" is similar. With some expressions, they look surprisingly similar despite the differences. Both are very expressive, some probably consider Nana to sometimes "overact" like many think about Fuuka, and these two groups may be a venn diagram. Nana's acting may not even be comparable to Fuuka's, however, she also knows the value of an exaggerated performance just as Fuuka did. Maybe Nana consciously is a Fuuka's legacy, even emulating her?

Continuing on to more observation about the similarities in performances. Yes, a lot of this will apply to many other JAV actresses too but, keeping in mind that people are not defined exclusively by appearance or exclusively by personality (in this case performance) but a combination, we can draw parallels between Fuuka and Nana that would be meaningless drawn between other people. Sometimes both "flail" in a similar way. As already said, Nana's expressions sometimes appear reminiscent of Fuuka's, though, I have not seen Nana ever make a face resembling Fuuka's famous wide-eyed scared face. It appears that this expression is very rare, perhaps unique to Fuuka, and maybe Nana doesn't want to copy this into her own performances or it would appear desperate, "I'm trying to become the new Fuuka Nanasaki!" or that kind of thing. However, it also could be that she has made that face and I simply haven't seen the JAV where she does it or didn't pay attention or even skipped over it. If you have seen Nana do it, please let me know because I'd like to see.
