Depends on the monster, but for many of them it depends on how attentive and into them the man is. If a man ignores a docile monster for too long, she may turn rapey (holstaur being the most famous example), while a aggressive monster that is doted on may become passive (wurm).

On the other hand, some monsters get even more aggressive if doted on, since their aggressiveness is linked to how in-love they are (girtablilu).
