It's honestly just opinion.

I think SA is the best overall game and has the best cast. IN and PCB are also pretty good and I would rank them and their cast over EoSD.

Something about the EoSD cast is that they are all connected and live in the same place. Much more interwoven with each other. I feel that casts of other games seem disconnected and aren't numerous in said connections. As in the Moriya shrine only really has three central characters while the Scarlet Devil Mansion has a lot more well-known inhabitants, which sets up a better cast for doujin works.

And Remilia and Flandre aren't even the best characters in EoSD, so ZUN didn't peak with "loli vampires"

EoSD has the best cast.

After all those years and games SDM is still the most popular faction.

Is it because of loli vampires? Or maids? Or maybe because they are westerners?
