Well, the idea was that it was just a rumour. So of course Aya would think it was true and would try to charm, threaten, blackmail her way to the Taoist dojo. Until she get kicked out. In other words, she makes an ass of herself to keep the story light-hearted.
These are just first drafts, they'll need a lot of polishing before being usable anyway. There's always room for improvement.
And I agree, we can still wait.
