Can't lie that I would've enjoyed it as well but I was setting up some form of competition all the way back from from last spring and realized I wrote myself into a corner during anon's autumn and the start of last winter. Reimu was a genuinely horrible person from the get go of the OG stories and only became worse naturally. I couldn't shake the feeling that simply having them patch things up would only cheapen Anon-kun's character and story arc and have it become a story of Reimu learning nothing as everything she's done is forgiven despite the hell she put him through.
By the time of Kasen and Marisa's proper involvement in the story I simply couldn't dismiss them especially as critical as they were to Anon-kuns recovery in the last arc. They did serve their purpose to me, which was to show that Anon-kun had options and didn't have to live like this as well as becoming a lasting and permanent consequence to Reimus horrible actions.

Overall I'm satisfied with how the story came out in the end, Anon-kun expanded his horizons, Reimu got some form of punishment, and Kasen and Marisa were rewarded as I quickly realized that monogamous marriage probably isn't widely practiced in shintoism and having mistresses would be rather normal so it isn't a stretch to have things turn out like this
