That said, I doubt this forum influences much which monsters get fan art, especially among the non-English fans. And in my folder kamaitachi only has like eight pieces of fan art, done by just two artists it looks like.

I don't know if I'd call them "so unpopular." Nobody seems to hate them, and they have more fan art than quite a few profile monsters older than them. But as others noted, them always acting as a trio may limit scenarios a bit (most fan art consists of just one individual monster after all).

I do wish we got some art of them using their wind powers, that sort of thing is always cool.

It's stated to be a "secret" medicine, so presumably there is more to it than just their mana as the ingredient. At the very least it's noted that it's concentrated in some way.

As for other monsters doing the same, it's hard to say. Sure there are commonalities, but every monster race has their own unique mana.

Overall though, the medicine seems to just speed up the changes that a man will go through anyway as an incubus, namely the intense desire for his wives and the changes to his body to make it ideal for him to have sex with them.

On a final note, it's criminal how little fan art the kamaitachi have.

There is a term for that, cradle-robbing. Or more commonly just age gap.

The appeal mostly targets women, though it also overlaps a lot with the 'childhood friend' trope. It's all in that the guy respects and admires the woman on a much deeper level than two people who casually started dating as strangers. They have had a deep, albeit platonic relationship for a long span of time before becoming lovers, which gives a certain 'safety'. If they break up they can still maintain a healthy, positive bond, and they don't have to worry about as many surprises if they already know each other so well. There are a lot of risks when you start dating someone. This negates a lot of them and makes the whole thing easier. This theme of safety is something you see a lot in games and visual novels targeted toward girls.

Also older women are hot.

At the very least, given how their personalities run the spectrum, we can say some kamaitachi would follow the "enjoys fighting as foreplay" sort of personality mentioned in the settings.

Monsters like that are noted to pretty much need/benefit from defeating their male and then ravishing him as a well to fulfill their desire to dominate as a monster.

And of course one can again note that nothing in the profile states they stop using their scythes on their husband.

I'm a fan of them continuing to use the scythes too just so you know.

One thing that can make being a fan of the MGE a lot easier/more fun is when you realize that unless a profile or settings info explicitly is against it (and sometimes not even then), KC WANTS us to imagine what we like regarding how married life with a given monster girl race is.

As KC once put it, the general rule for the MGE is "do as you will" (again, barring things like NTR, guro and such).
