Ever played a game online? A FPS like CoD maybe? Ever got killed repeatedly by the same player? Had the wish to do things like murder to him or arson to his house? You don't even know anything about him other than his skill at the game and his nickname! Yet you still hate this person! Hate him from the bottom of your heart!

So, why does the majority of people still believe you can't fall in love with a fictional character? Real love. If you can feel sympathy, hate, adoration, disgust and many other things for a fictional character, why not real love?

Love doesn't have to be reciprocated to exist. Ask the millions of people whose love is unrequited. You don't need to interact with someone to be in love. Ask the many in love with someone they only watch from afar.
