In that case I'm not much closer to understanding why 出る should be intransitive.

Is it that the library is the object which is experiencing the leaving? While Anon is the one leaving the library, he is not a direct acting agent who is doing the action of leaving TO the library. The library's experiencing of the leaving of Anon was not done to it by anyone or anything. It just arises naturally once Anon is no longer in the building.
