I honestly can not imagine Whale is a zashiki warishi, and that'll be the big "twist" of the manga.
I know she makes the characters forget but the whole focus of the manga switched from "Whale can give people hallucination fight and is doing it for her own entertainement" to "le whacky youkai (all involving Mamizou of course) bar antics XD" with Whale almost turning into a background character that doesn't do anything.
