I really think whatever was R07 original plot suffered from him not actually writing it as an actual narrative, so he didn't think about the details very much. This can be seen in Sotsu's very simple answers for the tragedies, but also in other parts of the story.

Satoko being unable to stay with Rika in St.Lucia makes little sense when added up with "Rika wants Satoko with her". Even the Meguri manga basically just cheated and had no dialogue for the loop where Satoko tries to be more forceful to stay with but they end up fighting due to that. There's just no way to write that concept well considering both characters are supposed to want to be together.

Gou/Sotsu probably would end up very different if R07 had actually written the full narrative rather than just a story outline.
