Komachi doesn't even have business with hermits. It's the reaper shinigami who must hunt down hermits and celestials. She makes this clear in Scarlet Weather Rhapsody that she's just a ferryman. (She implies she could reap souls, but it would get her in big trouble with Shikieiki.)
