sasuga anon, you messed up before you even got going. the point was that useful thinking is necessarily bound up in action, the cultivation of instrumental rationality is concerned with the achievement of instrumental goals. technically, thinking itself is an action, but getting something meaningful and useful out of thinking about thinking is not something that comes easily to most.


and sure, one can 'say' these things that way, but what does it really mean to the other person? at certain point youre basically saying 'to solve your problem git gud at life'. great, but how do? if it was already in him, he wouldent need to ask. 'dont worry just mooch off of everyone', gee why didint i think of it sooner.
