She initially didn't seem to get she had lost her memories though, and later in Sotsu even laments it by herself. If it were just a matter of her essentially selecting a character and playing a game you'd think there wouldn't be this sense of finality to her comments.

Still, isn't the whole point of this theory that Vier was already a witch in order to fit the Takano connection there too? I don't disagree that Vier somehow became Satoko, I just don't think it was a process like the one shown in Hotarubi (essentially a game's character selection screen).
