Because the board was created for it?
Oh wait, no it wasn't. Fuck off to >>>/mu/

Ever wonder why /jp/ sucks?

It's because moot never defined what /jp/ was for aside from being /a/'s toilet.

Don't lump doujin games in with non-doujin games, particularly Touhou. Those are canon /jp/-related:

That rule is new. Literally a couple of days old.
Touhou was mentioned by name as the sort of thing /jp/ was created for.
/jp/ was also explicitly as _not_ for anime/manga discussion, e.g. this thread.
There are overlaps between board interests. Horror movies can go in /tv/ or /x/. Photographs can go in /p/ or /hr/. Books can go in /lit/ or /book/.
However this does not go here. If there was a Venn diagram of proper, rule-abiding /a/ threads and /jp/ threads, there would be no overlap at all.

Again, nobody is even discussing the light novels. Searching this thread for "light novel" only reveals meta posts and a post by Saten-Anon, one of the spammers who has been banned for avatarfagging and blogging in the past. And it was in response to an anime post.
Stop trying to think you are clever because you've found a loophole. I could shoehorn anything into any other board. Yesterday someone made a Naruto thread which anyone would object to, but there have been Naruto light novels! This is exactly what you are doing.

What moot says, and how the boards are used in practice are two different things.

You stole my point from earlier and bastardized it.
Anime and manga go on the anime and manga board. You know this, but you're pretending your argument is valid or whatever. I'm too autistic to get what you're going for, and in the end you're just going to make yourself upset.

If we're playing the moot card, recall this sticky. VNs, Touhous and figs were explicitly mentioned.

I vaguely recall a mod saying Vocaloids should go in /c/, but I'm guessing he meant the image dumps.

I like having Vocaloids here because, well, they're another topic of discussion.

No no no no no. Don't pursue that line of thinking. /jp/ might be a better community, but that doesn't mean that anime and manga belong here. Anime and manga belong in the anime and manga board. In fact the very point of /jp/ was to restore /a/ to that status. Do not bring it here. I like mecha but I don't post mecha in /jp/ because I dislike /m/. Nor do I post cooking or paranormal threads here. You run the risk of basically turning this into "/a/ for grown ups" and when /a/ people hear that, they'll come here. In fact this is already happening. Your idea will only encourage it.
Keep topics in their appropriate boards. Granted there's some overlap between interests, but /jp/ was created specifically as a board to keep /a/ to anime and manga discussion. Let them have their threads, and we'll have ours. Don't turn /jp/ into a wildcard board like /a/ basically is now.

Well yeah, but you could apply that formula to any board. /ck/ is like /x/ but instead of ghosts, they talk about food.

/jp/ is basically a dumping ground for what moot didn't want in /a/.

I hate that this is true. We're to /a/ what /soc/ is to /b/. It's just a stupid way of moving the problem elsewhere rather than requiring the mods to do their jobs properly. It would not surprise me if moot added a /pony/ board next, and then a (permanent) /fur/ board.

It's supposed to be about doujin games (of which Touhou is a part), visual novels, and to a certain extent Japanese media (neta, idols, figurines). It also eventually became a general NEET/hikikomori board, because these are usually the kind of people that like those subjects.

Or you could just take a look at what moot said when he created this board. If something is Japanese but isn't anime/manga, it's welcome here.

Moot saying what goes on /a/ and what goes on /jp/. These two pictures I'm posting.

I can't see how they prove the spammers right, though - in fact, they actually proves the spammers are wrong, and that they should post anime screencaps on /a/. But hey, since when did logic work with retarded children?
