I can see the first theory where it goes but I always felt the personality Lambdadelta has for Bern it's a copy from Satoko to make Bern like her. Even how she looks specially short hair its for Bern to relate her to Satoko.
The second one even if I agree Featherine will be here, I don't think its something like this to be the main plot.

Because Bern is a silly roleplayer and shes literally bored to death and decided to play a villain this time, she was bored as well of being a victim for many years decided to experience how it feels to be a villain like Miyo Takano to her maybe to understand her perspective.
In theory Bern is overly emphatic due to her powers (Cause and Effect is intuitive for her) and compensates with the tsundere attitude in the end she actually loves everyone around her because of what she learned in higurashi for the importance of friendship but as well she acts tsundere to rationally balance it out hiding her vulnerabilities.
The Whose Tea Party? short story proves how Bern is easily capable of empathy towards Lambdadelta and has the altruistic behaviour of letting Lambdadelta win (by falling into the traps on purpose) just to make her happy. In Bern description says that she sometimes is you and others times your only friend, how I see it is that she can perfectly fit on your perspective and understand you through empathy.
This contrast with Lambdadelta that seems to easily connect with her pieces/worshippers but thats just because they have the same perspective and mindset like Lambdadelta which, in theory of course, lack empathy due to her huge ego.
I even see the whole Bern vs Battler fight where she gets punched by him and gets mad, I believe she was thankful to Battler to give her that experience that she forgot how it felt and probably even made her powers grow like some saiyan zenkai boost but you notice this more on the manga so its kinda borderline canon theorycrafting.
Reminder that all the violence we see between the characters in the meta is just like playing a video game, you don't feel bad to be violent to your friends in a video game because thats meaningless and doesn't actually end their existence. This is actually some kind of what Ciconia is about in the beginning with the Gauntlet Knight training/competitions in VR.

I believe that my autistic belief about Bern is literally the case of "without love it cannot be seen" and feel idiotic how my gold truths make too much sense to me to just discard into thinking that Ryukishi didn't go as deep as we think in his works.
