I looked back on the videos from those early months and wow, those were the days. S2 certainly didn't come even close to materializing the same level of enthusiasm, but through January when you judge the popularity judged by the standards of a "regular anime" that hasn't become some sort of ludicrous Nicovideo phenomenon, it's not too bad a showing.

The original Carnival Friends is actually the most favorited Kemono Friends video of all time, so good eye. When S1 was at it's height, the sheer quantity and quality of Nicovideo output and enthusiasm caused people who drank a little too much of the kool-aid to proclaim that the series could be the savior of Nicovideo itself. Ah, to be young again.
