I died three times to the Chaos Queen Quelaag while playing Dark Souls. I managed to wither down her HP down to 5% on all attempts, and all of my deaths were due to being careless.

On my fourth attempt I decided to be extra careful. Equipped with a Winged Spear +10 and a Dragon Crest shield for extra fire protection, I Reverse Hollowed to make use of Manslaughter's summon sign. I also opened up my foobar to put on some music to calm my nerves and not get too anxious again.


I was ready to beat the Chaos Queen once and for all -- with a phantom ally to my side, I took on Quelaag in my ultra phalanx style. Using Manslaughter as my tank, I slowly withered away the HP. Down to 10%, I was sure I had this.

What I could not believe was the humorously bad timing the controller battery died. I was lucky that I was a sufficient distance away from the boss at the time, but in the time it took me to run over to plug my controller in, the meatshield succumbed to multiple Fire Waves.

I was so disappointed that I wasted my humanities in this failed attempt. I was almost prepared to give up because this is usually the time where I die to some stupid mistake.

Coating my spear with Golden Resin, I charged at the Chaos Queen shield-less-- I knew I could not die. As the adrenaline rushed through me, I dodged all three of her whips, grazing it in such an artful manner that would make Reimu proud. The Queen was defeated.


Protip - listen to danmaku music while you play your games. I know half of you on this board neglected your waifus to burn the midnight oil playing this game.
