Akimoto Yasushi, the famous japanese pop idol producer, once said in a talk that during the audition process of a new group they have people rate the girls from a 1-10 scale. Counter-intuitively what they focus on aren't the girls that get 1s and 10s, but rather the decisive ones that get high average ratings. Their rationale being that those are the girls that get people deeply emotionally engaged as simps. I think a similar logic applies to Jav.
