I've used an STF to farm node M:

Chitose AV (fighter mule), Richelieu, Ark Royal, Pola, Mikuma, Tama (anti-installation nuke)

Suzutsuki (anti-air), Yahagi, Bep (nuke), Asashimo (nuke), Hatsushimo (2x HA guns + WG), Kako

Sent LBAS to nodes J and M. It was pretty comfy overall, barring random hits from the BBs and Supply Depot's asshole opening torp, and watching those huge damage numbers never gets old. Got my whale in 11 tries somehow.
