I downloaded Imperishable Night since /jp/ doesnt stop going on about how great touhou franchise is, but i have no idea what the fuck is going on, I got the gameplay to a degree, but is there meant to actually be a story/interesting characters ?

Where the fuck should one start with touhou to get the most out of it ?

I'm in a bit of a pinch /jp/

Got fed up with waiting for 2-3 years for english translations for legitimately good games, so I've decided to learn runes.

So far, the discussed study material I've picked up is Heisig and genki, using kanjidicks and tae kim or whatever online.

I've heard that after memorizing hiragana and katakana, Heisig is the place to start. Problems I'm having with that are the obvious., No compound kanji, no pronunciation/spellings, and only a english word is used for the definition. As opposed to thinking in runes, my efforts are severly undermined by making immediate connections to english instead of japanese. The lack of pronunciation is kind of a bitch too, since you can't know what character you're learning and what for without outside assistance, or reading the entire thing and committing it to heart.

Long story short; without so much as the most elementary of japanese skills, is it better to start learning kanji with Heisig, or should I look intoo something else. If the latter, please recommend me an order.

I'm going to start to play touhou games, since I finally got curious about it. And after reading about all characters and some "lore" I can understand why people like it so much.

I downloaded Embodiment of the Scarlet Devil and got a issue that is: the game is behaving as if my "->" key was being used all the time, but it's not (obviously), so with this I can't move my character or select any options since I got always stuck in the right corner of the screen during the stages only able to move up or down, I tried lots of things and different download links, but still the same.

I downloaded Immaterial and Missing Power and got this issue: I can't do anything at all, not even a single key works.

I downloaded Phantasmagoria of the Flower and got this issue: There is no dialogue.... just an empty text box.

I searched for solutions and other links on google but none of the links it provided were good, almost of them are the same actually, just different sites.

Anyone knows a trustworthy site that I can download the games? I'm really pissed about downloading nearly 5 gb of broken ones.

You guys, I had a terrible nightmare last night.

I dreamt I was playing the new Touhou fighting game, and it had TYPE-MOON characters in it! Including Shiki!

It was bad because all the Type-Moon characters were better than the Touhou characters, so no one could use the Touhou characters anymore. Thank goodness it was just a dream!!
