Well this is one reason why a massive swarming portal scenario probably wouldn't work without a bunch of caveats. One major aspect of the setting is that there are far more available men than there are monsters, and that monster girls typically just take the excess men that would never get a human woman to begin with.

On that note, such men in the MGE world are probably less likely to be picky. Slug or not, a gorgeous woman who wants them would still be appreciated by a village peasant who could never hope for anything remotely as good from humans.

Also, I'd wager most of the disliked monsters would have more fans if KC decided to redo them someday. Just imagine giant slug done with updated art and she'd likely be closer to the tritonia in number of fans.

So tritonia are a glowing mood ring and a built in way to show they're satisfied. Kind of wish details like this could fit in the profile itself or the "making of" was more widely known. I don't think any tritonia art I've seen depicts the glowing aspect.

Albeit, her feelers and tentacles glowing brightly upon sensing a man would be counterproductive to sneaking up on one. In the dark especially it would give a man an early warning.
