Oh please. Don't tell me /jp/ of all people feel the need to bash cheat devices like GameFAQs. The real "Ugh" should be to people who derail genuine ideas.

As I mentioned, it's simply a more effective way of practicing, not for the sake of beating the games. Even with 8 lives in practice mode, on Lunatic most people can't beat the later stages without lots of bombing, and to familiarize with the pattern, feel the need to play Easy/Normal mode. If you can just sit there on the screen and test your movements and adjust to the hardest patterns, it'd be a faster way to get good at the game, as direct experience is more useful than just watching replays.
