>he seems really amazed by Georges' success, and explain that in the meanwhile, he's still in high-school and doesn't have a plan for his life.
That's lip service and first encounter praise. Id you've ever had family conferences, you'd know that when families meet and talk about their accomplishments, to a degree or another, they make themselves look good without mentioning any of the realities.
At face value, George is doing well for himself working at his father's company and he has good grades. As a cousin, of course you'd congratulate him, that's completely natural. But only because you don't know the truth.

In one of my favorite songs, there's a small passage that I always love.

>No one will ever love you
>For everything you are

>And so you build up layers of deception
>And you leave out things to alter the perceptions
>Of the ones you love
>Who would never love you back
>If they knew all about you
>Every solitary fact

>And the sadness of your life
>Is built upon this lie
>Of really knowing anyone
>Or having them know you

>It's the sadness of the world

If Battler knew the true George, even pass his accomplishments, he wouldn't congratulate him. He only congratulates him on the layers of deception and what is perceived. When you have family conferences, you never show your true self, you never expose your weaknesses, only your strong suit in a false attempt at platitude. You can see it extremely strongly at the beginning of ep 1. Everyone's all 'heeyyy, wow Battler you've grown, arghhh Eva you so silly, awww Maria you're so cute'' with everyone having a good time. That fake facade of family reunions.

Also
>When Battler presents Georges to the audience in the first episode, he seems really amazed by Georges' success, and explain that in the meanwhile, he's still in high-school and doesn't have a plan for his life.
That's amazement, not jealousy.

>Georges explains he doesn't have anything to say, and that he envies battler who was able to turn his back to Rudolf.
That's exactly my point, envy is a form of jealousy.

Battler admires George for having a path in life.
George is jealous of Battler's relaxed attitude.
You've mixed both of them up.

>yeah maybe you are right.
I'm usually always right.

>Still, there are always some negative traits you inherit from your parents.
I highly disagree. The sin of the father and all that shit. Just as a father's talent does not rub off in the son, sins and negative traits do not. Of course, some traits obviously do get passed down, but not to the extent that it guarantees success or negative traits.

>Actually, Rudolf was the worst bully out of the three older siblings.
Oh yeah, I forgot about that. Hatred gets passed along, so when Krauss makes fun of his little brother, Rudolf bullies his siblings.
